Los Angeles based artist, Liz Mamont’s illustrations and patterns first caught our eye for their soft Victorian roots dosed with unexpected details, whimsical, fantastical situations and subtle humor. History, stories and traditional engraving techniques are apparent throughout, as are her delicate lines and details.

To achieve these effects, Mamont waits until her pens are nearly out of ink – sometimes taking a few months to a year – until they are ready for her drawings. With a charmed array of illustrations, books, posters, patterns and products under her belt, she seems nothing but poised for greatness. She’s fairly new to the twitter scene, but her work and her wit surely place her on the list of artists to follow.
