A month ago, we had a talk about slow movement as a trend– both in the art and consumerist worlds. Today, we’re continuing the conversation of gradual processes in regard to healing with the Brooklyn-based artist, Caroline Hwang. Her works were recently on display at the Beginnings Gallery in Greenpoint and beautifully illustrate physical and emotional systems through chromotherapy. Hwang’s shared the process behind her natural dye process- from the initial sketches to the final product, revealing color, calm and balance through geometry, quilting, rug-hooking and natural dyes.
