SS15 Palette Discussions

It’s that time of year again…and the crew at CAUS combined forces this week to hash out concepts, theories and colorways for Spring/Summer 15. I’ve been on the board for a few years now and have grown to really value the team- it’s a place where I get to toss ideas around with other industry minds who have made a profession out of  color theory.

It’s also a welcome treat to jump out of the Pattern Pulp bubble and compare notes with others beyond my immediate professional circle. We’re an interesting group, generationally spanning several decades- and as you can imagine, our interests and life habits are as diverse as our backgrounds. Thematically we often clash, but when it comes down to the palettes, we speak the same language- which makes for lively debate and tough-skinned banter.

When I present, I’m rather literal and anchor my findings to upcoming events, releases and predictions, spanning art, culture, politics and digital media. I look at past predictions, current trends and global perspectives, then go with my gut on what will continue evolving and what needs to be wiped clean, and by whom. This year I presented four stories: Feminine Tension & Trauma, Sci-Fi Consumerism, Generation Redistribution & Transformative Botany.

If you’re interested in learning more about my reports or would like an in-house presentation, drop me a line. Thanks!
