Simon Wild is quite the character as evidenced by his electrically colorful works and sparkling personality. Possessing a degree in Children’s Book Illustration, Wild found himself working as an animator, filmmaker, video editor and street performer before pursuing a career in illustration. This diverse and abundantly creative career path has had a clear influence on his exuberant style, which is also inspired by old toys, found objects, and travel.

In exploring the connections that can be made between an inspiration and imagination, his works have often been described as “psychedelic scribbles”, “elaborate telephone doodles” and “childlike expressions”. He likes to think of each illustration he creates as “making a new friend for life,” and it’s this passion and enthusiasm for his work that appears to infiltrate all that he does.
