There are four brands in this mix- though it looks like one cohesive story. That folks, is a trend. At the top, we have Petter Pilotto’s fabulous new collection for Target. The prints seem a bit experimental for the Target customer, though, bright always sells, so it should be interesting to see who buys (beyond the city types).

Then we have the most eccentric footwear collaboration by Mary Katrantzou and Gianvito Rossi. Simply amazing- the print collages are loud, and the styles remind me of J.Lo, but in a fresh way. Then, in a quieter, more pared down corner, there are these sophisticated beauties by Loeffler Randall. Crisp flats or boots for monochromatic fans. I might actually buy these, I like them so much.

Bright & Energetic for Spring

Spring’s around the corner- from a no sock and ice coffee perspective (New York’s been WARM) to an advertising and merchandising rollout. The color palettes are vibrant and have been populating the digital, print and TV airwaves since Super Bowl Sunday. Launching a new take on design, style and influencers, Gap’s tapped several bloggers and online personalities to showcase their latest collection. Have a look at Styld.by, the very sharable home for this execution.

Continuing with the overhead vibrant theme, JCPenney’s recently launched an entire facelift, revealing a paired-down, optimistic, curated approach to shopping. The catalog is easy on the eyes with playful photography and bold typography.

Tying the theme together, Target’s latest explosion of color spot reminds us all to get moving and douse our winter palettes with saturated hues.

Exciting to absorb, let’s hope the weather continues to follow suit.

Color: Neutral Palettes

Color inspiration can come from anywhere and today’s palette is inspired by basic nudes and shiny textures. From shells to jewelry to makeup, each surface is outstanding, and configured in interesting ways to inspire. Dana Rebecca’s jewelry reminds us of the beautiful formations found in nature, just as Target’s new Pixi makeup line softens our pixelated skin tones. This shell clutch from Louis Vuitton ties the package together, combining both concepts, color blocking, texture and shine.
