Street Shots: Snakeskin Textures

Whenever you’re following a designer’s inspiration reel, it’s easy to spot where it all started. Connecting the dots can be the most interesting part of the process, as its fascinating to see where ideas become tangible.

If you work in textiles, you know that animal prints never go out of style and are constantly being reinvented every season. Here are a few images with uncanny parallels to snakeskin. From this sludgy street signage in Tribeca to this Vile Gash shirt worn by my barista at s’Nice to this Chanel tunic shot for Elle Magazine. All are pixelated, heavily contrasted and busy. The best part of it all is that their man-made components parallel nature-based references.
