Camille Rose Garcia grew up surrounded by art, Disneyland and punk rock. At 14, she began working on murals with her mother in her hometown of Orange County, CA. The influences of fantastical happiness promoted by Disney combined with the generic life of suburbia and punk rock coagulated a trademark painting style that she’s become known for.

Garcia creates elaborately layered, broken narrative paintings of wasteland fairy tales that act as critical commentary on the failures of capitalist utopias, blending nostalgic pop culture references with a satirical slant on modern society.
