Bobo Choses is a children’s line located in Spain just outside of Barcelona. Co-founded by Adriana Esperalba, the brand aims to create durable and artful pieces every season. We’re particularly keen on the patterns and silhouettes, as they’re bold, unique and comfortable(!) The Bobo goal is a beautiful one, to capture the magical, passionate look and language of children. While the pieces are upscale, they make for beautiful gifts and the occasional splurge. We’re big fans.
Pattern Pulp’s been a hint quieter these last few weeks. Between a renovation, a move to Brooklyn, some family related medical stuff, wrapping the galleys for my Pattern Studio Chronicle book (!) and my own pending labor, things have been, well, busy. I haven’t talked about being pregnant all that much here – and have tried to keep the baby stuff to a minimum, but in my hunt for decorative and necessary items in these last few weeks of my third trimester, I figured I’d share a few favorite finds with all of you. The theme here is black and white – and as usual, I’ve veered away from cutesy…if you’re into this direction, I’d love to know, as I’m happy to post more on the topic.

Prior to Tel Aviv, I spent two days in Stockholm…which was amazing. It was sunny and warm and a feast for design eyes. There’s a post to be written solely about the creative scene in Sweden, but today, I thought I’d focus on a singular brand that’s really hitting the mark. Meet the folks at Mini Rodini.
Founded in 2005 by the illustrator Cassandra Rhodin, this fashion and home line’s become one of Scandinavia’s fastest growing children’s wear brands. Selling all over the world- from boutiques in Kuwait to London to Paris and New York, it’s made it’s mark in high-end, ethical fashion. I always lean in favor or humor and color when it comes to art and everyday life, and it’s nice to see a merging of these world executed so well. Have a look for yourself!
Check out the coolest carriage collaboration I’ve seen in a while. Bugaboo and the estate of Andy Warhol have teamed up to create a bold new collection for design savvy moms and moms-to-be. The Banana carriage pays tribute to music and punk culture, showcasing The Velvet Underground’s iconic first album cover from 1966.
The Happy Bug Collection is a bit tamer and pulls from Warhol’s famous art collection. The pieces are very cool and a refreshing departure from the solid color designs we’re used to seeing. I’d love to see a few more pattern collaborations down the road. What do you think?
If you’re shopping in the baby department, it’s likely you’ve crossed paths with the adorable line, Blabla. The patterns have a loose illustrative hand and the crochet dolls are sophisticated playmates with soft features and sturdy trunks. We’re fans of everything from the mobiles to the sheets to the bean bags. If you haven’t checked this Atlanta-based company out, bookmark their site, it’s one of the few American lines that truly feels international.
