Homegoods: Circular Spaces

Today I made a stop at ABC Carpet to check out the new displays. Aside from terrarium and moss overload (which we’re seeing essentially everywhere), I found the space inspired accessory displays to be quite beautiful.

Using glitter on both glass and mirrored surfaces, abstract shapes mimic and interact with merchandise. These spiderweb discs share a similar vibe and are as unique as snowflakes. Both refreshing and mystical in their own way, these circular spaces are a nice touch for the coming season.

Wedding Textures & Wang Inspired White

The past two weeks have been a bit manic in the Pattern Pulp office (hence the radio silence)! In an effort to relieve the guilt of not posting all of our goods we’ve been collecting- Milan furniture show finds, spring window displays, new trend series and color palettes, I’m sharing something a little personal to tide you over.

This week I’ll officially be getting married in Providence, RI, then celebrating in New York. While I don’t usually share the nitty gritty of my personal life, I figured a few “work in progress” shots wouldn’t hurt. From day one we’ve been collaborating with the fantastically diligent, creative and fun team that is You Plus Me Styling for an Alexander Wang meets patterned-themed affair.

Here are a few iphone shots I’ve taken along the way- from the dressing room at Barneys to fabric runs at Mood to table tents I’ve constructed from sheet music. Once everything settles, I’ll be back in business, til then, here’s a little graphic and musical treat to keep you occupied!

Budget Buys: Fenton Fallon

Rarely do I get an email about a sale that’s worth trudging across town for- today was different. I woke up to a firestorm of replies from my girlfriends about a Fenton Fallon sample sale in Midtown. The brand’s statement pieces have been on my radar for years and should be on yours as well, as each design is unique, edgy and truly a breath of fresh air in an industry overrun by sameness and knockoffs. From collaborations with Barneys, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon and J.Crew, Dana Lorenz, the brain child behind the brand has outdone herself in both departments of quality and quantity.

With prices ranging from $5 to $100, it’s pretty obvious I went to town. If you’re near 36th and 8th today, pay the studio a visit- your wallet and your girlfriends (if you’re kind) will thank you.

Accessories: Patternity from Across the Pond

I stumbled upon these patterned gems in London last November while browsing the black and white selection at The Dark Room. They’re easily one of my favorite accessories and it’s exciting to see that the ladies behind this limited edition run have been busy working to expand their line.
