Liz Meyer is a designer and illustrator living in Brooklyn. She’s been featured in How magazine as a young designer to watch and she’s done work for a wide variety of clients including AOL, The Atlantic, Fast Company, Passion Pictures, Pitchfork Media, New York Times, Wired UK, Warp Records and Men’s Health UK, among others. She’s also a partner at the design studio Script & Seal where she focuses her talents on experimental brand development and exploring the myriad of ways you can communicate visually.

With a clear passion for typography, she’s also participating in the Cooper Type post-graduate program at Cooper Union while writing a column for the popular blog, Grain Edit. Both her work and talent is well rounded, much like her twitter feed, where her personality really shines. There you can keep track of all that she’s up to and be showered with amusing quips about life from a fantastically creative point of view.

Book Review: Contemporary Collage




Collage as art  has always been around, though it became firmly established in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Modern artists have been rediscovering the wonders of collage, especially as technology’s helped bend our imagination.

Cutting Edges: Contemporary Collage is an impressive collection of modern collage from over 75 artists who have approached printed matter with their own unique fashion. While this book is undoubtedly excellent eye candy, we think you’ll find it inspiring and an excellent reminder that print is most certainly not dead.

An Aquatic 4th of July

Here’s hoping you had a restful weekend! There’s a bit of irony in today’s slideshow.

This collection is part of the Washed Up, Project Ocean window exhibit at Selfridges that I shot while visiting London a few weeks ago. In the spirit of summer fun, awareness and celebrating the ocean’s treasures, this theme couldn’t be more appropriate to usher in the second half of summer, particularly in light of Montana’s Yellowstone oil spill.

Yelena Bryksenkova was born in Saint Petersburg, moved to the States as a child and studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts in Prague. Finding inspiration from her travels, nostalgic recollections and traditional Eastern European folk arts, Yelena has evolved into fantastic illustrator.

The young artist’s portfolio is already impressive and shines with her unique, whimsical and dreamy style. Her twitter feed is a great way to stay abreast of her latest works and adventures.

Budget Buy: The Vapur Anti-Water Bottle




This past week’s been devoted to long hours of writing, art direction and ad agency deadlines. Partnering up with an old friend, I’ve shadowed her healthy lifestyle of mango snacks, yoga talks and this extremely cool foldable water bottle.

Vapur is a reusable, foldable, washable, freezable and a stylish alternative to the bulky bottles we see everywhere. They’re also $10 and up. How can you beat that?
