As we share inspiration boards each week, I thought it’d be nice to see a few of Kimberly‘s personal projects beyond the office walls. Here’s a print she designed for Hussein Chalayan and a marriage shirt she created and wore everyday for 6 weeks. The goal was to investigate the emotional connections humans develop with clothing. There’s something very secret garden going on in Manhattan this Spring. Floral headdresses have been popping up in windows all over town, reminding us of Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2010 runway styles. Above is an instagram I took at Opening Ceremony’s flagship store last week.

Gregory Euclide’s unconventional work is without a doubt awe-inspiring. His engaging forms hone in on the environment, a love that stems from his childhood spent in rural Wisconsin. Currently Minneapolis-based, Euclide teaches art in high school while crafting his distinctly unique pieces that frequently defy categorization.
The world has taken note, as Euclide’s work has been frequenting print publications, popping up in galleries and is on the cover of Bon Iver’s self titled album. Twitter’s a great place to follow his inspirational track, have a look!

While browsing J.Crew’s blog, Behind the Line, I stumbled across a gem of a feature. David, who’s part of the creative team, walks you through the process of painting and pattern-making for product.
The process is fairly consistant across industries, though it’s quite fun following the pointed tips along the way: how a print is born, getting hands on, keeping the design simple and digitizing the repeat.
