There’s an art to product photography. Oftentimes texture, gloss and light give the stylistic push a shot needs to make a statement. Mitchell Feinberg‘s recent accessory spread for Marie Claire is one example of a job well done. Incorporating a balance of strict and fluid, light and dark and high and low materials helps create a unique, interesting storyline. This poem played on NPR this morning and I wanted to share it. Kevin Young recently released The Hungry Ear and this piece by Joy Harjo really struck me. Also, the irony in the art lays in the photo I took while cleaning out my grandfather’s fridge last night.
I’m sure some of you can relate to the surprise of opening the cabinets of an elderly relative. Moldy chicken and fermented soup are just a few of the treats you’ll find when navigating for a simple glass of apple juice.
To the Americans in the bunch, enjoy the day and remember, the world begins at the kitchen table, we must eat to live. Don’t over do it though.
