Over the past few years, J.Crew’s evolved into both a curator and a collaborator, partnering with international brands to create unique product. This strategy’s proven successful as they’ve given exposure to companies looking to break into new markets. The latest partnership’s a fun one, as they’ve teamed up with the folks at Liberty of London to create a floral story for spring. The patterns transcend generations, covering both children’s and womenswear. Compared to last year’s Nike collaboration, it’s great to see another step into the American market- it proves how malleable and timeless Liberty’s prints are. I love the zip pouch and bikini. Seasonal Snowflake Display

In anticipation of the blustery snow I’ll be shoveling on my visit to Rhode Island this weekend, I have snowflakes on the mind. This origami display shines sharp in it’s perfect precision. Paper always has the ability to convey multiple moods when well lit and properly prepared. The Miwa Alex Salon of New York hit it on the nail, wouldn’t you say?

I’ve been holding on to these photos for a while, but to me, they have a timeless feel. These patterns are reminiscent of children in a schoolyard jumping rope or playing red rover. Holding hands, like paper dolls, these black and white motifs are expressive and organized all at once.

The first two photos are from Selfridges in London, and the pillow above is from Milan. They’re darling, and artsy and have a mature, whimsical feel to them.

You’re a guy getting dressed for work this week, acknowledging that a) winter’s still going strong b) life’s always a juggling act and c) it’d be nice to throw a sharp/casual look together without having to over think it. This is where Elliot Aronow and his creative prowess comes in. Aronow’s been teaming up with brands for a while now, curating their collections and offering advice to a generation overwhelmed by options. He just launched a line of ties that transition from work to the weekend. In his own words…

I designed and produced 3 styles of #jacques by Aronow ties for our debut winter 2013 collection. The first is a cashmere/wool blend with yellow tipping, the second is a green/grey flecked Donegal tweed with polka dot piping and the third is a black/green number made from %100 Loro Piana cashmere.

They were offered in a pre sale format to a select group of homies and sold out immediately. The idea behind making ties from sturdier suit fabrics was to create a “weekend tie”, something that could work with a blazer and jeans, sorta of a Andy Warhol Factory circa 1974 sort of look. That mixed with tweedy punk rock.

The ties are handmade in New York by TieCrafters, a wonderful business. They clean, shorten, customize ties and are great people. The next edition will be with Brooklyn Tailors and will drop some time in late Spring. They’ll retail for under $85. Click here to follow along for the ride.

Our very own Kimberly Hall, otherwise known as Nottene, is a triple threat. She excels in womenswear, ceramic design and fashion illustration. This collection’s lovely, isn’t it? Each print represents a piece of clothing for sale in her Etsy shop. To us it sounds like a mega deal, as the accompanying illustrations are tucked into each package along with the garment.
