What comes to mind when you look at this? Burning Man…an illuminated sculpture…an innovative Sukkah? Bingo! This wooden sculpture, entitled Gathering, was recently submitted for a high-concept holiday competition by Dale Suttle, So Sugita and Ginna Nguyen. “Calculated yet unpredictable, ” are just a few words used to describe the structure. The nonlinear assemblage of wooden sticks guide the eye toward the sky. “Whether wandering through the desert for 40 years or through the city for a day, all people desire respite. The sukkah is an icon for this relief from transience.”
