James Jean graduated from the School of Visual Arts and accomplished pretty much immediate success as a cover artist for DC/Vertigo Comics. Claiming five Eisner Awards and three Harvey Awards for Best Cover Artist, Jean took his talent on the road, quitting commercial illustration and concentrating on his paintings, book projects and gallery exhibitions.

His style is distinctive and unique with hints of realism paired with abstract cartoon styles. His twitter feed is wonderful as it follows him around the world as he shows his work, discusses and shares in-progress pictures and happily engages with his followers. It’s always great to see an accomplished fine artist getting the most out of social media and James is no exception.
